Utility Room

This was the first installation Kay created specifically for The Ceramic House which did not recycle left over tiles or recreate previous commissions. She wanted to create a complete contrast to the bright colours of the Tudor kitchen, and opted for green as the utility room leads to the garden. The relief effect is achieved by applying extrusions on to a huge slab of clay. It was then cut it into regular-sized square tiles.
